Gitpod is a platform for provisioning development workspaces in the cloud. You can possibly bring your established IDE, like VS Code, Jetbrains or even command-line-based IDEs like Emacs or Vim.
The product itself is built in the open, and uses mainly Typescript and Golang in its tech stack
Headquarters of the company is Silicon Valley, with the German subsidiary in Kiel.
